What are your plans for the weekend?
Wrapping
up sewing projects (including Corbin's halloween costume), meeting with
my new manager, and hopefully a bit of relaxing (although I doubt it!)
I GOT THE JOB!
I GOT THE JOBBBBBBBBBBBBBBBBBBBBBBBBBBBBBB!
Wow, I haven't posted in here in over 2 weeks.
I am still here, still alive.
Cosette got really sick but is doing so much better.
I have a job interview today. :)
I am not going to the job interview tommorow.
I am just so hesitant
about the job. The manager made me uneasy. The way he talked about
upselling this and that just made me feel blah. I don't care about
people buying $500 worth of photos. I care that the photo is good. He
said to me "I don't care if the photo is bad, if they are in a good
enough mood, they will spend a ton of money and that is what is
important."
I don't want to be in that sort of enviroment. I just can't do it.
Plus
the pay... it's crap. Minimum effing wage ($6.50) or whatever you make
in commisions. Not. worth. it. I am not going to work all day on
Saturday for crappy pay. I love my Saturdays. That is the time that we
all get to spend together and it means the world to me.
I am just way to uneasy about the way they run things. I can't be comfortable working there. Nope.
My interview went well. The guy was really easy to talk to so I wasn't such a nervous wreck. We chatted quite a bit, even about things that had nothing to do with the job. I guess I am just that in need of an adult conversation. Heh.
He wants me to come in for a second interview Monday at 10am. He left me with a 2.5 page phone script to memorize and told me he would be testing me on it on Monday. He also wants to have me do a dry run in the studio. Color me panicked. I have never worked with lights and such like that. They have a ton of lights. Hair lights, reflectors, some starfish (?) thing and ugh... I am just so nervous. He wants to see how I will "move around" in the studio. Yay.
He said I had a lot of what they are looking for. The only thing I don't have is the retail experiance. My job would be a little retail, a little photography and a little photo processing. I am sure I would be fine at the retail part. I hope he thinks the same.
My only problem is that the pay is crap (unless you upsell a lot) and that I would have to work a 12 hour shift on Saturday.
But
on the up side, I would be working with an awesome inhouse makeup/hair
chick, great equipment, lights, a Rebel XT, and a ton of backdrops. It
is the studio of my dreams.
I don't know what to do. I guess I am just going to go to the interview and if I get the job, I will figure it out from there.
And then the phone rings.
I just got a call to set up an interview at Glamour Shots.
Tommorow at 10am. I need to get a portfolio together. Yikes.
(and yes I know I'm a sellout by getting a job *there* but money is
money at this point... it's better than doing something I would hate)
How many pets have you owned in your lifetime? Tell us about them.

My first pet was a bunny named Cupcake, she was a floppy eared pile o' cute that lived in our apartment like a dog or a cat would. She was litter box trained! Unfortunately, Cupcake met an untimely end when she tried to escape from the bathroom when we had company over. I was only 3 or 4 but I tried to keep her from running out which resulted in her getting a door slammed, on her neck. Tragic.
I had quite a few goldfish after that, even one that lived for 3-4 years. We got it at the fair and it just kept on kicking. Insane.
My sister had a cat that we all claimed as our own, her name was Dinner and she was a darling outside cat. She was named dinner because she used to live at the neighbor's but would come over and beg whenever we lit the grill to cook outside. We only saw her at dinner time! Our neighbor told us we could keep her. She ended up getting feline leukemia and running away to pass.
Since then I have had a couple of hermit crabs, a few more rabbits, some gerbils, and a dog.
Next pet? We are hoping to adopt a cat around Christmas time.
What TV show(s) will you be watching this season? Why?
